A revolution in the digital world: TikTok’s Direct Post API

TikTok, the social media giant, has just created a surprise by launching its new Direct Post API. This innovation will completely transform the way you share your videos on the platform. Are you ready to discover all the juicy details?

A giant leap: the introduction of the Direct Post API

On Tuesday, October 10, TikTok unveiled its new content publishing API, called Direct Post. Currently being rolled out, this innovation will allow users to post content to TikTok from other platforms. This is a bold move that breaks down barriers between TikTok and other platforms.

Direct Post will allow members of the TikTok community to share video content directly from third-party platforms. In the future it will also be possible to publish photos. This feature builds on previous integrations, such as Share to TikTok, but takes it a step further by providing the ability to customize captions, audience settings, and more.

And that’s not all. Creators will also have the ability to schedule longer videos via Direct Post, using social media management platforms. Previously, TikTok offered a solution for sharing videos saved as drafts within the app. This development therefore offers greater flexibility and better control to creators.

Prolific partnerships and audit procedure

To benefit from the benefits offered by Direct Post, creators will need to connect to the third-party platform of their choice. However, an audit process is in place to ensure that all third-party platforms are approved before accessing this API.

And this news is already generating a lot of interest! Partnerships with industry giants such as Adobe with Premiere Pro and Adobe Express, Twitch (via Clip Editor), DaVinci Resolve and SocialPilot have already been announced. Unsurprisingly, Direct Post also integrates with CapCut, ByteDance’s video editing solution.

Deepa Subramaniam, vice president of Creative Cloud marketing at Adobe, highlighted the critical importance of this new API. According to her, it offers creators the ability to produce content with increased speed and without interruption to their creative workflows.

A promising future for digital creativity

This innovation marks a major turning point in the way creators interact with TikTok and opens up an unexplored realm of possibilities. Direct Post is more than just a feature, it’s a bridge to a future where creativity has no limits.

Dear readers, the future of content sharing is here, and it is exciting! Are you ready to dive into this new digital era with TikTok?
